The first quarter of 2025 is almost over. Here is a little update on the goals I set for this year…

1. Be More Intentional With Relationships

This one is a work in progress, but I’m definitely getting better. I’ve been saying “yes” to more invitations and texting back quicker—both of which are small victories for me. I’ve never really liked mixing personal friends with work friends, but I’ve even been stepping outside my comfort zone there. It’s not perfect yet, but I’m actively making more room for my relationships.

2. More Date Nights With Leanna

Mission accomplished here! Leanna and I have been on at least one date night each month since January. Big shoutout to our family for babysitting the boys and giving us a chance to enjoy some time together. Also, I’m giving myself a little pat on the back here—this month, I planned an amazing surprise birthday party for Leanna (with a little help from our friends and family). Not to toot my own horn, but… TOOT TOOT!

3. Days With Owen and Hudson

I haven’t had full days with Owen and Hudson yet, but I’ve been doing my part to give Leanna some time off. I’ve spent hours with them after work, giving her time to hang out with her friends. She deserves a break, and let’s be honest—she’s a rockstar. I can already see the impact on them, and it’s just as rewarding for me as it is for her.

4. Read 12 Books

Believe it or not, I’m already on my fourth book of the year! I’m talking actual books—pages, words, chapters, no pictures. It’s a big deal for me, and I’m even learning new things along the way. Reading has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

5. Walk/Physical Activity for At Least 30 Minutes a Day

I’m crushing this one during the weekdays. I’ve been working out every morning and walking around while I’m at work. Weekends, though? That’s a different story. Still need to give the weekends a little more attention, but I’m planning to kick it into high gear soon. Speaking of which, I’m starting 75 Hard in September, so that will definitely keep me on track.

6. Make Healthy Choices With Diet

I’m making some progress here, but there’s still room for improvement. I’ve been focusing on portion control, but I’ll admit the portions I’ve been eating aren’t always the healthiest. On a positive note, I’ve only had five alcoholic beverages since January, which feels like a pretty big win for me. But, hey, that’s about to change this weekend since my best friend is turning 40, and we’re going to celebrate!

7. Drink a Minimum of 100oz of Water a Day

Can we talk about how much I’ve been peeing lately? Because it’s a lot. Seriously though, I’ve been sticking to this one pretty well. Staying hydrated is easier than I thought, though I could definitely do without the constant trips to the bathroom.

8. Lose 20 Pounds

Drumroll, please… as of March 28th, I’m officially 17 pounds lighter than I was when I wrote Part 1 of this blog. So, it looks like I’m well on my way to hitting that 20-pound goal. Toot toot again—feeling pretty proud of myself on this one.

9. Reduce Mindless Screentime

Okay, I’m still scrolling Instagram and Twitter (or X, whatever it’s called now), but I’ve definitely reduced the mindless scrolling by spending more time reading. I’m currently on book number 4, so that’s a pretty solid indication that I’m making better use of my time. Baby steps.

10. Learn More About Content Creation

Here I am, still blogging. Honestly, I’m hoping to get back into video content, like vlogs, but I don’t want to burn out like I did last time. Blogging is an easy outlet, and it feels like I’m making steady progress here. Content creation is still on the radar, though, so I’ll see where that takes me.

And there you have it—my first-quarter update on my 2025 goals. If you have made it this far… Once again, you have made it through probably the most boring blog you will ever read…Part 2.
