This past weekend we went for a trip to Charleston, South Carolina to visit my sister-in-law for her birthday. We had a fantastic time…
The weather was perfect. The pool was refreshing. And the beach was stunning.
We even went on a boat ride while we were there and saw more dolphins I have seen in my entire life…(or it could have just been the same dolphin making multiple appearances)
That’s not what I won’t be doing again…
What I won’t be doing again happened on the trip down to Charleston…
We were about two hours away from our final destination and we as a family (Me and Leanna) decided to stop and get some lunch…
We stopped at McDonalds… (Its cheap and we know the boys will eat something off of their menu)
After we ate and were about to hit the road and decided it would be a good idea to use this opportunity to have a bathroom break.
Leanna took Hudson with her so she could go and change his pull-up. Which means I took Owen with me…
I have taken Owen to the bathroom countless times since he has been potty-trained. And all of those times I have taken him, I usually go in the same stall as him… It has NEVER been an issue.
On this day…
It became one…
As I was in mid stream, he looked at me and made a comment that sent shivers down my spine…
I won’t say what the comment was… but it was in regards to what boys have and girls don’t…
I immediately responded… “No! Don’t say that.” To which he replied… “But I can say potty words… We are in the potty.”
I had to let him know that you don’t go around saying that to people… I really just didn’t want him to walk around his school telling all of his friends about…
That…
This would be the last time I would and will ever use the bathroom in the same stall as Owen.
Never again…
Nope…
I won’t be doing that again.
